Smile Which Firewall for up to 100 users?

I'm looking to buy a new firewall for my company and was ideally looking at something off the shelf for around £1000. The only things I have found so far are the Watchguard Firebox 500 or 700.

Can anyone recommend anything else or have any experience of the two above? (only I've never heard of them).

Cheers

Thanks, but my company won't buy anything from ebay! Anything else that may be suitable?

i've used sonicwall pro series with no issues, tend to stick with Cisco Pix's now (if the client is paying!!!)

all much of a muchness, if you understand the basics of firewall technology.

i use cisco vpn client as well on some sites so I stick with the cisco boxes for this reason.

you really need to understand whats being hosted and served.
is it purely for desktop security, or do you have webservers/sql servers on a DMZ.

certain manufacturers have certain strengths/weknesses, also who will be administrating it?? sonicwall has a lovely web interface, all straight forward and simple to understand (unless you flash the bios with the chinese o/s (which i did)...Once!!!

have a google about, i'm sure there are some head to head tests about....

regards

BB

Thanks for the help so far guys, it's purely for desktop/security. Our website is hosted externally.

I had looked at the Cisco PIX stuff but think it may be over my budget

I'll have to take a look at the sonicwall stuff.
