Default How fast is your connection??

I recently got suspended from my ISP for uploading (apparently I'm not supposed to).
Before I got suspended, the connection ran at 512kbps. Now it has been reconnected it runs at 2048kbps

WTF - they've obviously cocked up and given me the wrong package - we pay £30 a month...

What's the norm for broadband?

TBH it doesn't seem to make much difference - I can't even make the most of it by using Bittorrent

Are you sure? £30 for 2mbit is awesome. I pay that for 1mbit (well £20 for 1st 3months) and thats a good deal. Maybe youre capped to a limit per month or something? Whose the ISP? I reckon its an error, so dont ever ring them!

Yes mate I'm sure it's an error

We have been getting the 512kbps service for a couple of years now.

Just need to find some sites to make use of it...any ideas?

Just done the test looks like I haven't got a freebie...

When I hover the mouse over the green arrows on the desktop - near the clock, it shows 2048 downstream... wonder wether the newly downloaded XP service pack has anything to do with it? ...

Down 128.4 Kbyte/sec
Up 33.6 Kbyte/sec

EUR 20 per month (about 14 squids)

yup. Doesn't bother me though, as I don't do much downloading. Just surfing, email, and working from home.
