Default Richard Burns Rally on PC

Hi,

Has anyone played Richard Burns Rally on the PC? If not, go and get it NOW! It is by far one of the best and most impressive driving games I have ever played, you need a fairly powerful rig tho

been playing it a while - if you think that Rally School is difficult (I did!), wait until you do a proper stage

Bl00dy good though

it may be your graphics card, this game is pretty heavy on the box. I found that until I got the latest Radeon drivers, I got the odd random reboot.

It works great now and yes, it is hard! I haven't done the final rally school one either, 2 or 3 seconds off tho!

mine works fine with the above hardware - managed to complete the last stage with about 1.5 seconds to spare

The hardest turn by far, is the one with the Scandanavian flick.......

This game does rock. Its well difficult to get super times on it but if you stick with it you do start to get the hang of all the driving techniques.

Play it for a week and then go back to colin mcrae rally. You almost die with laughter at how bad CMR seems in comparison.

Thumbs down tried more ram in pc

put more mem in and graphics went all white triangles so reinstalled game.still the same.so took it backout.
would the graphics card cause the sound to stutter.

mick.
ps.there are no conflicts in hardware+software setup.

Is it just RBR that causes this Mick?
Have you tried the GTR demo mentioned on another thread?

I believe RBR is a dx9 game, GTR is a dx8.

bioforger, that isnt true

I have a Celeron 1Ghz, 256Mb Ram, Geforce 4 Ti 4200 Gfx Card

RBR runs perfectly fine for me, and looks better gfx than the Xbox (I have both)

And I run it on XP too

Question

Anyone had difficulty with the second advanced rallyschool lesson? (the left foot braking one) I'm getting really pi55ed off with it now.... I always stick at games even difficult ones no matter how hard some parts are but I keep failing on the braking part while I get perfect for all other ones? I must have tried over 100 times!

Tried keeping throttle and braking at the cones like instructed then tried releasing the brakes at different points in and after the corner but on evaluation it goes green then says fail... I've tried allsorts, even follow RB exact driving line sometimes yet still fail on brakes

the secret is to keep your brakes on longer than you think you should! Also, have you got split/separate brake and throttle axes? I've managed to get into actual rallying now - hard work tho!
