Default Linux and DVD recorders

Morning Folks,

I just downloaded and installed Mandrake 10.1 beta - an upgrade to my previous copy of 10.0.

I was hoping that the upgrade would have support for my DVD writer which was previously lacking.... but it still doesn't.

This is the only thing stopping me from moving all my work related activities to Linux at home - I can't do backups!

I need a DVD writing package for Mandrake and I am prepared to pay for it.

BUT!

Installation has to be simple and not mention words like "tarball" or "compile" just "click OK to install" thank you very much. I am trying to get more into the workings of Linux but until the DVD writer works I don't have enough incentive to spend more time fiddling with it.

Any suggestions much appreciated

Have you tried K3B? Similar functionality to Nero and some people say better. Works fine on my Suse 9.2 Pro box with my Sony DRU 700A.

Oh and:
