Question Databases - Translation Tables?????

I've got a telephone interview for a job tomorrow, and one of the tasks of the job is "translation tables".

Never heard of them Anyone any idea what they're talking about? (This is on SQL Server by the way).

I'd guess it's a table that links one entry to another, i.e. translates, but I've no idea what they actually are. Or maybe loads of tables which let users see what an item they were familiar with on an old system - relates to on a new system..... Sort of a reference. Am I on the right track, or talking out of my bottom?

Anyone any ideas?

To be honest with you I have been working with Windows tools (ASP,ASP.NET, SQL SERVER, C# etc) for over 5 years now and have never heard of translation tables.

All I can think off is that they link one entry to another just like you said. Sorry I couldnt of been much more help.

As per tommy I've been using sql server since 6.5 and its new to me, its certainly not a standard feature of MSSQL, sounds more like they have modelled a database and they need you to understand the structure (schema).
