The solderless 2.3b lite also has the switch on the front of the Xbox. Been running one on mine for several months with no problems... however this is now a discontinued version and pretty hard to get hold off..

You could always run the 2.6 with one of these fitted to make it solderless, although never tried this so not sure how reliable it would be....!!

Or you could try something like this

Hello

Is there any reason to "upgrade"? I had my 2.3 chip fitted a year or so ago.

I'm lookin at gettin my Xbox chipped too. When you order the v3 chip do you get the switches in the pics above included then or are they extra?
Where's the cheapest place for the chips?
Think I've seen em on baldbouncer for about £37??

Cheers

Nick

P.S: No solderless v3 chips out yet then?

The switches I pictured are not included, but the ones you do get aren't bad either.

No solderless X3 yet. Would recommend Bald Bouncer for price and support.

The most important thing to remember is that X3 has 'X3 Config LIVE!'

This means that it is totally configurable via built in software. No other chip has this.

Dunk,
Where are those switches available from?
Just had a look on the baldbouncer website and they only list this switch at £4... (If I need the switch too it'll be nice to order everything together and ideally from the same place)

Just what exactly do the switches allow you to do though? lol
I'm new to all this Xbox modding malarky (As if you couldn't guess )

Cheers

The v3 pro switches can only be used on the v3 xecuter, not on the v2 afaik.

The programmer allows you to connect the chip to it, then connect it to your PC to flash the bios on it via Windows software.

I was running one of the original beta enigma 15 billion wire solder modchips (and vowed NEVER to solder another mod chip ever again) up until recently. I then bought a 2.6 non solder mod, whopped it in within minutes and also upgraded the hard drive at the same time. So easy it was unreal and I should of done it months and months ago.

Regards,
Shaun.

The V3 is coming with an adapter to help with the REALLY bitchy soldering required for the D0-D2 wires... God they were a pain in the ****... but the adapter does away with this and frankly even a complete muppet like me can solder the pin header on.

I got mine from mrmodchips... really fast service!
