Have used them before and have also used the printable RiDisc with great results.
As for Bulkpaq going to the bin...dont be so hasty. I am trying these atm and have had no probs with any on Pioneer 107 and 108

Been using the purple G04's for a while and they are great Had a few dodgy ones with bad blemishes in the dye, but generally excellent.

Have just ordered CMC dye discs this time around as I've heard good things, as they use the same dye as the Verbatims.

No such thing as G04 anymore Dunk unless you find a company with old stock.
Ritek have switched the G04 to M02 formula that has a lower Azo concentration (not as deep purple).
The G05 has been ditched in favour of the TTG02 (TDK) formula which was a good move as the G05 was never that stable in the first place.

Bottom line, 4x Ridisc should be avoided unless definately G04, 8x Ridisc are good discs for the money.

Don't diss Bulkpaq, the new 8x branded Bulkpaq share the same digital-organic Fuji dye as the hugely popular Datawrite greys!

Taiyo Yuden is where it's at (speaking as a Ritek G04 lover)

Genuine TY's are in a whole different price range.

There are a lot of fake Taiyo's about (prodisc01 with TY stamper). If they seem too cheap, they're no doubt fake.

Expect to pay circa £1 a disc for the real McCoy's

Cheers Paul. My G04's are the last few that I have left from previous stocks. Need to find a dye that is suitable for my purposes for the next few months now, hopefully the CMC's will be okay ?

Dunk

If you don't mind paying about £6 a tub, the 8x Datawrite yellows have come out top in out own tests.
The Datawrite 8x printable is exactly the same disc and are a quid cheaper!

Both of the above burn at 12x in the Pioneer 108 on stock firmware (v1.06).
I would guess they will perform similarly in the NEC3500/Asus1608 although i've not yet tested max burn speeds in these drives.

Thanks Paul, I think thats what I've already ordered. Do the Datawrite yellows use CMC dye ?

BTW, how do we get a SNet discount on your shop ?

The new 8x yellows (Datawrite's flagship disc), use the TTG02 dye. Probably one of the best dye's on the planet at the moment. Still can't figue out how or why they are so cheap!
Demand has already outstripped supply of these discs. Datawrite have no more available in the UK at present

The new website's been signed off, the techies are uploading the products as i type with a view to going live this month.

There will be a Scoobynet login to open up discount prices. I still need to speak to Shaun/Simon about this and sponsorship opportunities etc.

Yeah, heard about that. Burn a disc, check it with ADVDINFO and the type has magically changed It's a dirty business and one of the reasons I don't trust DVD recordable for anything more than short term backups.

I buy all mine from http://www.blankdiscshop.co.uk who assure me that they only resell genuine discs. Who do you source them from?

Cheers!
