For any Mac fans out there...
Apple will open it's new Regent Street store to the public tomorrow.
It's also been announced that it will open two further stores. One in birmingham and the other in kent (inside the Bluewater shopping center) somtime during 2005, sooner rather than later though.
Excellent news!

Well done class A. I'm helping with the product selection and some of the planning foer the look and fell of the stores.
I've been very inpressed with the focus and dedication PCWB have.
We now have the largest force of Apple trained engineers in the country whihc happened in an amazingly short time and there could be a further 160 trained if the demand is there.
Oh and we won the MacUser award again on Thursday. God that award is heavy especially when your carting it across London after 9 hours of heavy drinking.
We got 60% of the votes too !!
Roll on 2005 !
We are also hosting another MacWarehouse/Inmac event on the 10th of December at Chelsea football club if anyone wants to come along. Would be nice to see some Scoobynetters at the event as we've met a fair few of you at these dos in the past.

Allan that's great news about the Apple sections. I'm sick to death of going in the PC world near me where they still display the old 15" iMac running Jaguar and still try to sell it as brand new at only £999!!

Things will only get better. Apple is a tiny bit of the business at the moment and it would be as they don't have the expertise to get people in the stores.

Allan, do I win a prize?
It would be good if you could give us some insight into the design and layout of these "stores within a store" although I appreciate that this may not be possible for commercial reasons.
PC World has never really understood the Mac market or "The Cult Of Mac". The staff are more interested in selling the extended warranty products rather than a personal computer, which is understandable given the pay structure. I say this as a former PCW employee. I was rubbish at the hard sell but I was one of the few on the floor who knew much about the actual products!
I must admit I was a little concerned when PCWB took over, I thought they might just turn you into a "box shifter" so it's nice to hear things are going well.
Cheers!
Alex
