Default Using 110v hardware in the UK

A printer I want costs £450 over here and $350 in the States, so I'm planning on importing one.

What's the deal with running it on UK mains? Will there likely be a switch inside the printer, or will I have to get a step-down transformer?

Hello

It depends. Some of the equipment I bought has a transformer that will accept 100V - 240V in which case you don't have to worry (just get a very cheap plug adaptor) and some only accept 110V.

The only way of checking is to actually go and have a look at the printer. The price of a transformer is about £20.

Steve.

check the spec of the printer if it's auto-voltage or if there's a switch. if not, then just get a step-down transformer. i used to use a step-down transformer for my 5GHz cordless fones
