Default mobile as a modem

sometimes i use my ppc and my mobile phone to log on the internet.

is there a way to make the modem connection quicker

phone is n6600 ppc is hp2210

Hello

If you are using it as a normal modem, I believe it's limited to either 9600 or 14400.

GRPS will get you up to 56K but is incredibly expensive (per mb pricing).

Hi,

dependant on provider you can use GPRS to give approx 38kbps or HSCSD.

Best method is a 3G data card from Vodafone or Orange, you pay about £25-£75/month for unlimited or fixed inclusive data bundles and get broadband speeds of about 384kbps - connection usually requires a PCMCIA port on your laptop.

The unlimited is approx £75 on voda if I remember correctly, not too bad when you consider the fact that you'r getting broadband speeds and no data limit and it's all on the move. I'd consider getting one for the move but beware, coverage is only within major towns and cities currently,

And that's assuming you have 3g coverage

Otherwise it's bog standard gprs.
