XBox Live set up...

XBox Live set up...
Anyone set theirs up through an adsl router via the wireless card on their PC??? Having trouble...

Sorry dude,
got a D-link ADSL router with wireless, have a wireless card in the PC, using internet sharing to try and run 'Live' through the PC, get as far as the 3rd checklist thing on the Xbox autosetup, (something to do with DNS...)
tried entering gateway, subnet manually instead but that didnt work either...
i know its hard to troubleshoot when your not here but any common things i might of overlooked may help...

If you have a firewall on your PC it may well be blocking the ports required by Xbox live. Just buy a wireless bridge to plug straight into the xbox, then you don't need the PC on to play the Xbox and you can move it around the house.

Can't afford the wireless bridge mate.
Also having poblems with the wireless itself. Set it all up yesterday, keep losing the wireless connection and internet connection intermitently, but not necesaraly at the same time..?? theres nothing wrong with the signal strength, full bars.
if i unplug the router and plug it back in it all works again...?? I do hate computers sometimes!
Thought about the firewall but a friend of mine has exactly the same set up with no probs, (he's in Barcelona though unfortunatly! for me anyway!)
