what is the best dvd media, (that lasts longests/shelf life)
for movies

Fuji claim the FUJIFILM03 dye has a 50yr longevity.

This dye is used in Fuji (obviously), Datawrite 8x Gray, Datawrite 8x printable and Bulkpaq 8x DVD-R.

Very difficult to substantiate these claims, you pays yer money and takes yer chances.

I use Ritek RiDisc and have not had any problems for a long while now. Like the previous post indicated, the more you pay the better the disk generally speaking

Another one here heard good reports on ones using Ritek dye, the purple dye.

(info I got from overclockers some time ago)

Ridisc (manufactured by Ritek) purple dye jobbies. No problems at all yet.

i'm actually using datawrite classic, it seems ok, except that some discs got really minor scratches on it, and quality after becomes poor

Id recommend Ritek G04 / G05 dye products; Ive had four bad ones in 200 discs and those were physical manufacturing faults.
