hi
trying to get more ram for the pc and it's been 3+ years since i've been building pc's and i've lost track of hardware!
the pc has a single dimm of 128mb with pc133 sync cl3 written on it.
i've looked on dabs etc and bought a 256 pc133 dimm and the pc wont recognise it, pc beeps and wont power up. also tried another pc133 and a pc100 but no joy.
are there different types of pc133?
cheers
steven

All PC133 RAM runs at 133mhz so you should be able to plug another stick in with no problems. Check that the latency of the new stick matches the old ie. CAS3 or check the BIOS settings.
There is a chance it could just be a duff stick, as I've had 2 duff 1gig sticks on the trot from Aria with the same problem - no boot, just a beep.

What type of memory is it? DDR,SDRAM etc..
If you do not know, remove it and go to http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html and get the free advisor, download and run, and it will tell you everything about your pc, from hardware to software.
