Default ps2 online IS it ******* possible

i have co to the conclusion that ps2 online is a myth

why

1, i bought a ethernet cable, before xmas,
tried to connect it with xp ics,
it didn't work

aah i thought maybe its not a xover cable
so

2, went and bought xover cable this week,
ics didn't work again

so

3, bought a NEW modem , hopefully gonna get it connect direct to the modem,
went to official sony site and checked which one works

bought the netgear DG632
tried both cables and it still didn't work,
so i thought maybe i need a decent straight cable

so bought s fckuing new one today plugged the ******* thing in and guess what

yes thats right it ******* don't ******* work

there is no such thing as ps2 online they're all fake,
same as ghoulies, bogeyman and michael jackson they are are told to scare little children

Haven't got it myself so can't help

However, have you checked out the two following links in case they might offer any setup help?

http://uk.playstation.com/networkgaming/guides.jhtml
http://www.gamespaper.com/features/G...2Network.shtml

Good luck

Using the Sonys Central Station disc that came with the network adaptopr, I couldn't get the PS2 to find the internet also. I had FIFA 2004 sat next to me at the time, so used the setup on FIFA to configure the settings and it worked first time. It was much easier than faffing with the Sony disc. If you have any EA games they should have be able to configure your internet setup.

Is it struggling because it's IP address is on a different subnet to the gateway you are telling it to use?
