Default No login screen on XP

I installed some lexmark printer software, now when i boot up all runs as normal until the login page is supposed to appear. I just have a blank screen with the mouse cursor (which works). It even does in this safe mode!

Roll back? If that works, then do NOT load the drivers via the little CD proggie that autostarts. Browse the CD so you know where the drivers are, then use Device Mangler and update the drivers for the printer and point XP at the correct location on the CD.

If roll-back doesn't work sue M$, 'cos that's what it's there for.... (or you could try removing the software).

Roll-back is the feature in XP where you can set the machine back to how it was before you added something. When you load drivers you should se ea little message saying "Saving a setpoint...etc" at the bottom of the screen. You should then be able to boot into safe mode and roll back to the last setpoint.

I usually use TweakUI (availble from the M$ site) to control the auto-login, because I don't use XP enough to remember how to do it there. BTW, it leaves a gaping security hole (including remote access) so I'd advise against it.
