How to get data off HDD?
Help, mobo died during processor swap.
Got new Biostar SFF barebones case, put IDE HDD into new case with XP etc all as it was on previous pc.
Won't boot past the screen to say windows shutdown incorrectly, start in safe, etc Tried all options it just loops back to the same screen.
I need to get data off the drive before I format it. How do i do this?
I put the HDD in another pc connected as a slave secondary IDE, (pc has a SATA drive), now that pc won't boot.
How do I get the info I want off the drive before formatting and starting again??
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply.
I haven't put the slave drive in the boot order at all. It has a version of XP on it as it was the boot drive for the dead pc. The main SATA drive for the pc I put it into, to try and get the data off also has XP on it. Could this be the problem?
