Default IPod hard drive upgrades

ARe there any limitations to the capacity of HD you can put in an Ipod?

Looking to increase my 3G Ipod, and seeing that the 4G Photo has a 60Gigger got me thinking....

Any ideas?

a m8 from work dropped his and inadvertently saw inside his. It's not a std 2.5" lappy drive so the limit is the availability and capacity of these tiny drives.

Not sure what the connectors are like or if the drive/software is locked in any way.

You also may need a special tool to open it without breaking things.

I'm thinking the same once the warranty runs out

I've found the models - Toshiba & Hitachi make em.

They're 1.8" (so smaller than the notepad type) and run @ 4200rpm.

The model number is - MK8007GAH

Here

According to most sites, it's quite easy to do - identical connectors etc

Just trying to source one.....
