Default Metal Gear Solid 3

Respect to Gameplay - my copy of MGS3 was sitting on the mat in the hall when I went home for lunch.

Opening story is fascinating - although pity there's no movie style titles like in Sons Of Liberty.

Anyway, I only played for 5 minutes before I managed to launch Snake of a cliff.

The Jungle looks awesome - it's a lot better than I thought it would be, and I'm glad that trees that block your view of snake go semi-transparent or that could have been really annoying. The instruction booklet is fooking mahoosive though!

Well having played this for 4hours last night ( admitedly 30mins were spent trying to kill crocodiles !! ) I have to say I am very impressed.
To be honest the cutscenes ( only 1 big one at the moment ) and story line are that good it makes you feel like your playing the role in a blockbuster movie, and they only add to the gaming experience...

Can't wait for another session this evening....

Ditto. Story is fantastic.

Only thing that's annoying me is when you save and that bint starts quizing you about sci-fi movies.

"F*** off will you, there's a bloody great python trying to get at me meat & 2 veg!"

What's with those green frogs?

I got the building where the bloke is being held but tried to take out 1 guard to many - got spotted before I (literally) stabbed him in the back...

Discovered the triangle button at that point is very useful as it fast forwards all the conversation.....!

Just found out this morning that I missed the Sniper Rifle and an Ak47 !! I have been taking on 6men at a time with a bloody swiss army knife....

LOL - I got the Sniper rifle (SVD) but not got the scope yet to go with it. I think you must be further on than me so I'll have to keep an eye out for the AK.

"Hmm Tasty!"

I thought the story and relentless cut-scenes are as irritating as they are in all the MGS games! You'll find as the game unfolds there's more twists and turns than an episoode of 24!!

You'll also find this game is the most gratuitously sexist in a long while - later on you'll get to ogle a lot more than your rocket launcher!

It IS a quality game and thoroughly good fun from start to end!

Have fun!

PMSL

Love the first-person view in the cutscenes!!! Blatant excuse to check out the funbags and the rear of the female characters!!! lol. I nearly fell over laughing when I saw this!!

I missed the AK and the sniper rifle as well, but you get more chances to get them later on thankfully!! Lack of auto-aim and the need to constantly change uniform is a bit annoying though!

*****! I've only ever seen blokes so far!

Just wondering if the save-game bint will say "So Snake - have you seen Debbie Does Dallas?"

BTW, the green frogs are apparantely something of a bonus feature, you have to shoot them to get some sort of reward at the end, will let you know after I get some more info......

Yeah there are something like 60+ frogs throughout the game, shoot them and they start making a weird noise ! No idea what you get at the end though...

Had great fun this afternoon creeping round the guards dressed as a crocodile...... great game....

I didn't fancy this, but rented it over the weekend to see if it was any good and if it had been taken on to the next level from the first 2, but suffice to say I only got 1hr 10 mins through when I lost interest. Maybes not long enough to give it a fair chance but initial thought was it wasn't anything more than graphically prettier than 1 & 2 which are getting on now (may not be that bad as I did complete both games more than once).

Was the same for me with HL2, apart from a couple of parts that stood out (Ravenhall(sp?) was my favourite), the graphics and new engine were fantastic but that's about all I can say. Still haven't finished that game, unlike Doom 3 & Far Cry but maybe CS:S has something to do with that

Haven't touched it since GT4 - keep meaning to go back to it - saw a TV ad for it the other day and most of the footage was stuff I haven't got to yet

"This is the end..." He's a right sneaky ****** - I laid a trap of him found a very narrow ravine - hid a sh!tload of claymore's behind me in the reeds then sat in wait. Next thing I knew was "I haven't had a battle like this for long time" and the tw@t had his sniper rifle stuck in my back - only needed one more shot on target to finish the git off too...

Use the Direction mic! Spin around slowly, if you can hear The End breathing or snoring then he is in that section of the map. If you cant hear him, move on to another section.

paul.

ps. He is a little bugger!! took me ages to get him.

Yep - that directional mic is essential - although that motion tracker is next to no use

Look at your Map, it shows you the sniping points and highlights the one that the End is at... Sneak up on the g1t and let lose with the Shotgun.. When he legs it use the Thermal Goggles to follow his footprints....

I've not tried sneaking up on him, although I have seen the map show a "red" sniping point - BUT - do you need to have seen him at that point for it show him as being there?

Mogsi, dont blast with a shotgun!! If you perform a non-lethal "kill" (ie use the mk22 sleeping dart gun) then you get a special camo to use.
