3Gb per month cap on 300K
1Gb per day soft cap on the rest. Looking at the AUP, they will only write to you if you regually exceed the 1Gb per day and people on your street/Area moan.
Just gone and upgraded to 3Mb, Woosh.

Ntl reserves the right to contact customers who regularly exceed their daily usage allowance, where such excessive use impacts the quality of service for other ntl broadband customers.
Customers with the 1Mb service (3GB per month)
Ntl will be monitoring across the network to identify customers who routinely exceed their data allowance, but not enforcing this allowance until later in 2005.
Before that time, ntl will be deploying new capabilities that will allow each customer to view their usage levels. Thereafter, customers who exceed their data allowance in any given month will be given options, which may include, for example, the ability to:

My broadband has been down since thurs, engineer due today and came outside the timeslot so missed him, but it mysteriously started working again last night. Wonder if its a result of the upgrades - I'll check it out when I get home

Cheers Neil, all working fine now. Im hoping the cap is spread out over a month though, so I can download stuff a couple of times a week, and not worry about going over the 1gig for the day.
242k a sec downloads are sweet though!

flat4 - nope, they have introduced a cap now unfortunately. 30gb a month for 2 and 3mb
They reckon it's a soft cap though apparantly, and they will write to people who go over this regularly. Considering you could go through your monthly cap in a day on a 3mb connection though, it could take some restraint!

Ahh boo tried to do the upgrade and it couldn't get the routers MAC address so I phoned them as instructed and they said it will be automatically upgraded anyway and I would get a letter, couldn't give me a timescale though.

Hi,
Anyone else are having their set top box upgrade in the next few days other than Mark?. I phoned them yesterday and was informed that I won't be getting a new set
top box before 4/4/05 but they would upgrade mine to 1Mb for the moment. Are they
trying to fob me off?
Li.

JDMCTR,
i think it depends when you actually rang them, my mate only rang up yesturday (Friday) and he isnt get his new box until the beginning of April either, due to the demand for replacement boxes, they just had no free appointments until that day.

Hmmm.. think I'll ring them and asked to be down graded to the 1Mb link now from the 760 (2Mb?)... don't need that much bandwidth at home - do need cash thou!

For 2mb and 3mb, the caps is 1gb per day, as it was before on 750k and 1.5mb, and I expect (for now at least) that they will only contact those blitzing the connection with constant torrent downloading etc.
