Default Pipex upgrades

Just had an email from Pipex.

They are upgrading my 1mbps link to 2mbps free of charge, which is nice

Will happen between now and August, or I can pay a 1 off £15 to have it done now

Also applies to AOL and BT Broadband.

How did you manage that?
Are you a high volume user or just a generally nice guy!!!
I never hit my monthly limit but only upgraded to 1m recently so maybe not in the valued customer range yet

Just got an email similar to DreamWeavers.
I AM a loyal customer. I can pay now [£15 or wait] and am getting other upgrades to their service free of charge. As well as doubling my usage to 15gb/mth.
Not a bad day as I got my work contract extended so will be working a little while longer too.
Yeehah

Same here, 1mb upgraded to 2mb.
I'm just gonna wait for them to do teh upgrade, don't necessarily need the 2mb anyhow
Acutally I'd have prefered them to give me the option, either a free upgrade or reduce the price I'm paying for 1mb

The price is also being increased. It will now be £33 a month.

Thats if you were paying £28 a month or 1 Meg, There upgrading you for free, but the price per month is being increased.

Got the e-mail a few days ago. Our line is on the limit of 1mb so will have to see if we can be upgraded though. If not, I'll find another company that does the same speed for less money.

Also, I can not see on the My Pipex pages where the new usage monitor is...

I wish these companies would sort their existing customers out first We've paid the 15 quid because we're impatient so should be getting upgraded from 512k to 1mbps any day now. We're on Solo so no limits for us either £23.44 or thereabouts each month.

I'm awaiting an email back from Pipex. I've done the same as scoobychick.

However, I thought I'd be cheeky and ask whether or not as I would technically be on a 1Meg line (paid my £15), would I be entitled to an upgrade to 2Meg in this 6 month period of change.

If you don't ask, you don't get. And as I've effectively paid for my upgrade, then as everybody will be upgraded for free anyway, I should still be entitled to a free upgrade. ie 1Meg to 2Meg

Maybe.......

Ive also got the 1mb upgrade email.
I think i currently pay about £25 and have no limits on downloads.

Ive been with them for around 2 years and have had no problems at all with the service.

I'm am also currently on their 512K service (Solo I think it's called, with no download limit).

Already knew about the upgrades by the time I got the e-mail but I have paid the £15 to be upgraded to 1Mb as soon as rather than wait until August, possibly.

Also thought about Nildrams 2Mb service for £25.99, the download limit is 50Gb per month, not sure if I would hit that or not so think I might stay with PIPEX.

Thought my internet seemed quicker tonight! Just checked my e-mail and Pipex sent me mail saying my connection will be upgraded by 6pm tonight, and hey presto it has!

Done a line speed check on ADSL guide and its reporting download speeds of 1662K don't know how accurate it is though................. so good old pipex
