Hi
Upgraded from win me to win xp.
In my pictures the folders have 4 little thumbnails on the folder cover. How can i revert back to the classic folder icon but still retain the thumbnail view when i open the folder?

You can double folder them that way the outer folder will not contain any images - hence no thumbnails. Not sure how else, though..

You can set the view for each folder i.e. turn on/off thumbnails. So, you could set the view to just icons in the folder above - My Documents probably. This will show "My Pictures" as an icon. You can then set the view within My Pictures to thumbnail.

You can also change the icon for a folder, but this doesn't work if you are in thumbnail view.

BTW, the thumbnail image is stored in a hidden thumbs.db file in the root of the folder. It's generated automatically, but you can set it to any other image (jpeg, bmp, etc.)
