Question Broadband speed

Hi,

Went onto broadband couple of weeks ago and get 2.2mbps is this good and what does it mean and also seen 412kbs detected,what does this mean and any good, ntl down bt line.

is that what the connect speed is displayed as on the bottom right on the screen (network icon)? Thats basically saying its a 2 meg connection so roughly 230-240ish K/Byte per second download bandwidth. The other figure may be your upload, im not to up to speed on ntl speeds to be honest

2.2 Mega Bits Per Second. Where are you seeing 412kbs? As this sounds like your not getting your 2.2mbps connection if showing on the blue computer screens on your properties bar, should be reading around 2475.
I know someone who opted for a 1mb connection and when he checked NTL had only put him on the 256k broadband connection! Try a speed test by going here: www.adslguide.org.uk and you will then have an idea what your connected at.

Thanks for replies,

Done test and get 476 Kbps (59.5 KB/sec) down and 240 Kbps (30.0 KB/sec) up,Connection is supposed to be 512.

The blue comp screens on toolbar say 2.2 mbps but told only 512 as above.
