Multipe users - DRIVING ME MAD
Hi,
Sounded simple...... NOT.
Set up another user in XP, set as administrator.
Loaded broadband drivers etc, but just get the 'unable to display/please refresh page'! If I connect when I am logged in, then log into other user, I then get 'access denied, not in access control list', when trying the internet.....
Any ideas REALLY welcome!
Cheers...

First off, doing day-to-day computing shouldn't require you to be using an Administrator account unless you've got a particularly old or misbehaved application.
Are you running any third-party firewalls, such as Norton Internet Security, ZoneAlarm or Sygate? What version of XP are you running... Home, Pro, SP2?
Given that you've mentioned drivers, what USB ADSL modem do you have?
Need a bit more info. before we can help

Hi Alex,
I am running XP home (SP2), and have disabled Zone alarm for the purpose of trying to get it working with the other user. Modem is a Binatone 500, but soon to be a BT 105.
Cheers matey,
Tony.

SP2 has it's own firewall which if enabled, could be conflicting with Zone Alarm. Or, ZA might not be playing well with your new account as it was created after ZA was installed. I'm not a ZA user, prefer Sygate myself for various reasons, maybe a ZA expert could help us out here.
I'd completely uninstall Zone Alarm just in case it is not correctly disabling itself. Don't be tempted to go on the 'net without any firewall, your machine is likely to be compromised within a short space of time so re-enable the Windows Firewall! Then, when all is well, switch back to ZA if you wish.
