What about the "patch"
Released 2 weeks ago, everyone's patched their game (server menu now works) but we've now been told to reinstall the game to get rid of the patch because the patch causes a memory leak

yup.
since I got rid of the patch I cant get a single game...
HOWEVER- after looking thru this lunch, it appears a DOS attack is taking place on the BF2 account servers- so this will also have a massive negative effect.

I hope once the DOS is over it will all work fine again..

GameSpy Under Attack?

Wed 13 Jul 2005, 3:02 PM | DMC | 4 Comments
Boomtown reports the recent downtime of account servers (that we have all experienced) can be attributed to a denial of service attack launched against GameSpy.

Many gamers are currently experiencing problems when trying to login to their Battlefield 2 accounts. The problems are caused by a denial of service attack on GameSpy, who're running the account servers.

This means that all of GSI services are unavailable at the moment, leaving many with having to deal with real life for the time being (scary stuff, we know). As with so many other things regarding Battlefield 2, a fix is being worked on.

Cool

I haven't had any problems with the patch, I'll give it a hammering tonight.
