In system tools run microsoft windows backup, within the selection of things to backup choose ' system state' and your 'c' drive, back it up to local disk 'c' and then burn the resulting .bkf file to disk.

Packard Bells that come without recovery discs use a hidden (EXTHS) partition recovery system. Don not use FDisk under any circumstances. Read the manual (RTFM!) or call PCServicecall and theyll tell you how to create a set of recovery discs. If the EXTHS becomes corrupted during the first year then PB will supply a set of recovery discs free of charge; after one year youre looking at a cost of about £30.
