Apolgies if some these Q's make me sound a lazy sod but I have my iTunes library on my laptop at work but the iPod is at home...

1) I can set Equalizer settings in iTunes to specific songs - but are these settings automatically ported and updated on the iPod when it's connected?

2) Preamp - does this alter the volume? if yes will it update all the tracks and update the iPod (as per Q1)

3) Although I'm sure the answer is "No" I'll ask anyway... If you alter any of these settings on the iPod, will it update the Library? I'm asking as you don't really know what the best settings are for certain tracks until you actually hear it on the 'pod - so going back and forward is a bit of a pain...

4) Where is the artwork stored on my HDD? just wondering if I should be optimising the images and what size to edit them to.

Can't answer the first three as I've never bothered with EQ settings etc. but track artwork actually gets embedded in the MP3 file (it forms part of the ID3 tag) and is not stored elsewhere on your PC's HDD.

Just checked that AAC does the same - it embeds the image into the file.

Time for a bit of research on that one - think I'll re-edit all my artwork as the 'pod, on occasion, took a while before displaying the artwork...
