To sum it up in one sentence:
"a bunch of blokes, sitting around drinking beer playing games on their networked PC's"
Big emphasis on beer.
usually there's about 40 ppl.
We all go out for a curry as well
just to make the room smell nice

The only reason I ask is because something like this would be a laugh providing I wasn't surrounded by nerds. I need to know.

seroius answer follows:
Demographics:
18-20 Years old - 15%
20-30 Years old - 50%
30+ - 35%
Most of the people going have partners (including myself), I'd say over half. - many of the people have kids.
The guys going (aside from the gaming & drinkning) use the weekend as a form of escape - to have a mini break from the "real-world" doing things they enjoy & having a few beers.
That do you?
/edit.
Yes, there are a few ubergeeks, but the majority are "normal" people

Officially **** & warez are not allowed.
during "peak times" - 11am - midnight filesharing is disabled
- only to encourage people to play games - otherwise it turns into a leachfest

Serious question.
Serious question.
With regards to nerds, as long as you stay away from people with glasses, crap haircuts and perspex panels in the side of their PC you should be ok
