Afternoon all,
I need to get a wireless access point to connect 2 devices approx. 300m apart.
It's practically line of sight and they've used Cisco Aironet stuff before but it's a bit pricy, any suggestions for a good Wireless Access point at less than Cisco prices?
I'd need G as a minimum but I could use Pre N stuff as all kit will match and it doesn't have to interface with anything else.
Other than that it's google time![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Cheers!
Phil

ummm... a linksys or netgear 802.11G router will do fine, but for the distance make sure you get one with an external antenna mount (normally just a BNC) as for 300m and for the neighbors not to get interference you will need a directional antenna. If you really want to do it on the cheap you can make some modifications to a pringles can and get 2 miles line of sight connection with under 100mW of power

of course I mean AP/router... if it is for business ie reliability if important you should look for an appropriate dedicated wireless bridge. But if it is to link up two mates places to play LAN games then a highly recommend the pringles can option!

LOL, no it's business to connect some CCTV stuff.
I have line of sight but I need 24/7 reliability, will probably end up with Aironet anyway as it's small beer compared to the rest of the project.
Cheers!
