I have just noticed this so not sure how long it's been happening but my PC has an athlon XP 2200+ processor which runs absolutely fine. The thing is, though, on the POST screen and in windows the processor speed is reported as 1350mhz.
Now I know its not going to run at a true 2200 but would have guessed it to be somewhere nearer 1600-1800mhz?
Can anyone correct me or suggest what the problem might be?
Cheers![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Certainly the thoroughbred AMD 2200 based chip should be running at 1800mhz.
I wonder if there was a 2200 chip based on the previous chipset that ran at a lower speed?

Hmm doesnt seem to be the case:
"Where it does get confusing is in differentiating between the Athlon XP Thoroughbred from Palomino. The Athlon XP 2200+ is a no-brainer, as this speed is not available in older models, but the others are a bit different. Instead of imitating Intel with an "A" or "B" designation of the new processors, AMD is keeping the model numbers standard between the two different cores. "
EDIT - Have a look here:

Sorted it thanks Beefy, that pcpitstop forum kinda guided me in the right direction.
For some reason in the BIOS it was set up for 13.5x 100mhz rather than the 133mhz it should have been.
All reporting correctly now![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
