I have been running a 512k connection speed for almost a year now, despite being bombarded with upgrade offers etc,..
i live further away from the xchange, so i thought i kniw the limit was 512k
just come back up after having a cuppa and bb was disconnected...
when the connection established i cliked the link to check all ok.. and it now shows 1.1mps connection...
i hope my isp hasnt done this and whacked me witha bloody capped usage
anyone else had this ??

It will be a free upgrade as no one (or hardly anyone) is providing 512kb connections anymore. BT have been upgrading all the exchanges and ISP's have been giving out free upgrades. If you were on 512 you get upgraded to 1mb and if you were on 1mb you get upgraded to 2mb.

Best look on the website for your ISP to see if thats what they are doing. If you look at any of the major ISP's such as Pipex, PlusNet, BT etc they wont actually provide you with a 512kb connection unless thats all your exchange can handle. And no if you had an uncapped service then you wouldn't suddenly find it capped. If you did then you would want to move ISP for not telling you!
