Marc - what is your default mail program set to? (I'm assuming this is XP?). I think Firefox works on whatever the default program is set to. It's a bit of a funny one this. There doesn't seem to be an easy answer.

Open Control Panel, then select Internet Options. Click the Programs tab. In the drop down list next to Email, make sure Outlook Express is selected and not Hotmail.

Is Outlook Express the default mail handler ? Open OE, click Tools --> Options and ensure it's the default mail program.
If its set to default both in OE and Internet Options I don't see why it shouldn't work ! (I use the same setup with no problems, and it opens OE)

Its all set for default but it still doesnt open through Firefox. When i click Read Mail it shows i have 4 unread Hotmail messages and opens that. New message opens OE though.
To run OE im having to click Start on the desktop.
