My son is considering a degree in computing. he wants a to go on a course which specialises in games computing.
Any recomendations on courses or UNIs ??

Uni of Abertay in Dundee might be worth considering.
They are in partnership with a couple of game houses and are able to guarantee jobs post-grad to the top %age of students.

Get in touch with Abertay in Dundee as paul mentioned. Originated by Dave Jones (lemmings, GTA etc), he set up the games programming and design courses in conjunction with abertay and DMA design.
