I've got a lexmark one, can't remember the model name, but I've had them before, and they are always a top bit of kit for good prices. Downside is they eat up B&W/colour cartridges quite quickly.

HP is also good but a bit more pricey.

That's the problem, would prefer to spend a bit more up front and have better consumable consumption/price

Epson Stylus RX500 is a decent all-rounder.

epson and the hp are both top, the brother ones as well are very decent. We use one at work, the only problem with the brother is its tendancy to use up colour ink even though you only use it for blasck and white. Strange!
Would stear clear of lexmark though, had 2 in a year (replace under warranty) they eat ink and have a tendancy to stop working after a few cartridge changes (done the correct way using genuine cartridges) didnt bother to get it replace again under warranty just bought an epson instead. Much better prints and better alround
