You download a lot. These machines - XP - are good, but occasionaly you have to throw out the rubbish.

Firefox is cack. A properly setup PC with IE will give you years of proper internet browsing.

I've used IE on my current XP system for 3 years now without a single problem or re-install, unlike Firefox which cant even hadnle cookies properly FFS!!

Jack's fix is correct, but your issue is that you have some hidden directories in your temp internet files folder that a simple delete files command does not delete. Browsing to the correct directory under windows explorer & then manually deleting will work.

A good practice is to reduce the size of your temp internet file folder. You only really need it to be 80mb.

Oh right - i've never had a problem with it. The odd site is badly coded, but usually displays if a bit weird - in extreme cases I can always right click and show in IE.

No matter how well the system is set up, there are still problems with using IE - like the fact it lets sites open 1000000 windows when u try and exit and then more open etc.

Also, I notice from my webstats that more and more ppl are using Firefox. IE. used to get something like 85%:
MS Internet Explorer No 52605 65.9 %
Mozilla/FireFox No 25050 31.4 %
