Default New Graphics Card problems.....

Some of you may have seen my other post?

I have bought a Nvidia 7800GTX 256mb to replace my tiny GeForce FX5200, the 7800GTX is excellent by the way

in order to make it "fit" i had to change the motherboard and PSU but every now and again the PC will just reboot itself without warning and it seems to struggle with Toca race driver 2, it lags up while racing, but more demanding games such as Battlefield 2 are smooth as silk.

Any ideas?

Did you do a clean install of windows when you replaced the motherboard ?

Always best to do that. Saves time in the long run.

As above, clean install m8.
You could try updating your motherboard drivers eg nforce driver package.
Motherboards nowdays have so much more on them, infact they are far from just a motherboard now.

Disable the system shutdown feature:

right-click on My Computer
select 'properties' from drop-down menu
click on the advanced tab
startup and recovery - settings
untick the 'automatically restart' box

now at least the system won't reset, you'll get the blue screen with error codes.

e.g. 0x0000002 (lots of numbers)

note the primary code (0x0000002) down and paste it into google on reboot and the MS knowledgebase should give an indication of what's causing the probs.
