Quicktime 7.0 download?
Is there anywhere I can download this codec (Win XP) *without* have to install bl00dy iTunes as well - which I really don't want on my machine.
It's bad enough having to install Quicktime rubbish without getting a ton of unwanted intrusive apps, spyware and god knows what else getting sneaked onto my machine by Apple.
Any advice appreciated.

Thanks for that. The alt version has the smallest footprint (not surprisingly) but is still a 12Mb install Seems a lot to me for a simple codec.

You're joking? I've had a look at the Mac download for QT and it's around 40MB. It contains localization files, so there is a single file for all places, which will account for some of the size. The other factor is the main Quicktime folder, containing the core of QT is around 62MB uncompressed, so that'll account for most of the size. As for why it's that big, I've no idea, but it is. I'd guess the windows version would be a bit smaller, as the download is only 20MB.
I've never seen an official Apple installer install any spyware/malware or anything other than it should. There would be total uproar from the fanboy Apple community if they did.
The nearest they have come is having the mini music store active on startup of itunes 6.0.3, this they changed very quickly, without need to more software so that it was turned off by default.
