Default BT Wireless

I have installed the wireless router ok, and web browsing is fine.

It has been online for about 35 minutes or so. I have checked out battlefield 2 and it loads and runs fine, although i do get a bit laggy from time to time. Is this something that will settle down once the modem beds in?

It is supposed to be a 2meg line (I went from 1 meg ntl), the modem is bt voyager, speed 54 mbps - every now and again this drops a touch, which is where i suppose I get the lag from.

signal strength shows excellent.

Is there anything else I should check or is this 'lag' normal for a wireless modem?

Fitz - it ain't a car

If you find that the signal drops slightly for no reason you could try changing the channel it runs on ie 8 to 11 or vice a versa

lol Im at work until 5 ish, are you talking about remote access? :P

This is all way over my head

I did call a guy in New Delhi this morning to ask about it and as I thought his reply was, "Leave it a couple of days please sir, let the modem settle" lol whilst this is absolute pants, I will probably wait until Friday night to see what happens.

I will give it a good run on BF2 tonight as she is out and if I keep getting problems then I suppose the only real option is to have it hard wired in.

Nah we use the same gear here at work as it's what we use for all our Sales Reps for their home setups so it's easy for me to replicate the same thing here at the office
