Default Wireless problem

Hi guys after some help, at the moment i have 2 desktop computers in the house. One of the computers is hard wired in and the other is on a wireless network. I have just bought a laptop with in built wireless, i can not connect to my existing network for some reason, the wireless connection is not encripted, any ideas??

I have taken the laptop to a couple of mates houses who have wireless and the laptop has worked perfectly at both locations.

Any help would be great thanks

I'm no expert, but the only thing that I can think of, is that you have to 'register' (how, I'm not sure - check the router's 'control/admin panel') the laptop's MAC address with the router (in 'Command Prompt'; "ipconfig/all" to find such), as that's what I do back home, which I believe, keeps the connection secure.

Fixed now, i did not know the router had to be turned off once the setting had been changed.
