New sound card? - recommendations please
I currently have an SB Audigy - one of the first ones, now about 5 years old.
Is it worth upgrading to an Audigy 4, or X-Fi given that I just want high-quality stereo music. The sound card is connected to a Cyrus amp and Gale monitor speakers so any deficiencies would be obvious.
Any other makes to consider for under ~ £80

The Terratec Aureon cards are supposed to be the best for playback and also very good for gaming with 2.1 speaker configurations as well as supporting upto 7.1.
I still mourn the loss of my Aureal Vortex though. Nothing beat A3D 2.0 surround sound for realism
