Recently people have been getting the jump on me when playing Halo 2 on Xbox Live.

Am I getting too old and slow to play it?
Possibly.

However, I think there could be another explanation, so please let me know what you think.

In addition to the above problem, tonight, while playing Team Slayer, all my team-mates disappeared at the same time - this happened during two different games.
The other team were all still there.

I recently changed my wireless connection to 128bit WEP, from 64bit, but I didn't think it would make a difference. Does anyone know otherwise?

I have a 2mb ADSL connection.

Could always try a wired connection to see if that improves things any.

Another step will always add some lag (I accept though that it may be barely noticeable).

I'd definitely try a wired connection if that were possible, but the router's a couple of rooms away from the Xbox. I know the signal strength is good, because my PC is s similar distance away.
