am afraid I was already "in the job" before these came out, but if you have any ?? i'm sure someone will be able to answer most of them

I did both A+ and Network+ about 2.5 years ago - it was a 10day course with both exams at the end.

It's a fairly entry-level qual, so you should find it reasonably easy if you've had a modicum of previous PC experience.

Are you doing it to help you get a job on the IT ladder?

Thanks.

The reason is for a pending 'forced' career change.

OK. Well, unless you can apply your previous job experience to the IT arena, I would expect you to be earning less than 15k for at least 6 months.

You'll be looking at junior/entry-level support jobs, because A+ on its own just isn't in demand these days.

I don't know what you're doing now, but the best thing you can possibly do is to get 'some' (any) IT experience in your current role. Even the slightest thing you can make a major point of in your CV.

Before my first IT job, I was in Telecomms in the Army. I barely touched a PC in my job, but you can be sure my CV said otherwise. And no, I didn't lie - I just made sure I mentioned every little relevant thing, and exagerated it slightly.

In Aircraft Engineering at present. I was involved with a large SAP system roll out within the company a while ago, but our support is all contracted out.

Thanks again.
