Default Best new decent spec Laptop for around £350 ?

Looking for a laptop that only needs to be able to handle email, web stuff, music etc ie nothing hardcore (we have a high spec desktop for that)
Any suggestions ? Dell sell what look like decent spec Laptops for well under £400, but any suggestions welcome.

Cheers.

I bought a dell inspiron 1300 (1.5 mhz Pentium M processor) last week for the wife for the same thing, swapped the extended warranty for more memory. Was a bit disappointed with the boot speed with XP home, so installed Win 2000 Pro and it takes about 35 seconds now to boot, took nearly 2 minutes with XP home! Runs pretty fast as well. Price £415 including VAT and Delivery.

Thanks mate, Dell indeed look good value, and its not going to be used for anything heavy so doesn't need to be huge spec.
The hard drive on my IBM thinkpad just gave up so though might as well get a new laptop rather than mess about fixing it.

It'll probably cost you more to get it fixed than buy a new one. The reason I bought the missus a new laptop is her old one had a problem with the power connecter and they wanted £200 to fix that! Apparently its the time taken to pull it apart and put it back together thats the killer. However you might be able to stick a new H/D in your thinkpad if its under a trap door on the bottom of the machine. Should just undo a screw and pull out!? Maybe never had a thinkpad.

Hello mate, I'm selling a Dell Latitude D400 if your interested. I'd do it all in for £400.

1.6 ghz pentium M
20 gig hard drive (maybe a bit bigger can't remember)
DVD drive
e.t.c

These are really small business laptops, let me know if your interested...
