19" TFT Monitor?
I am on the look out for a new 19" TFT Monitor as my old CRT monitor is about to give up the ghost, bloody thing keeps turning off!!
Can anyone recommend any reasonable makes/model to look at? I'm not looking to spend hundreds just want a reasonably good one.
Thanks

I hated the Samsung 930BF and sent it straight back to eBuyer, though it took months to get my money back.
It looked great, but was too bright and had terrible gradients from top to bottom on solid colours - I had to tilt the top right down for it to look any good.
Maybe OK for gaming, but dont get it if yuo do any multimedia work.
I haven't replaced it, as that experienced tarred TFT's for me, compared to my Iiyama 19" CRT

Oh and I put a 1-star review as such on the ebuyer site, and they never listed it for the 930BF, which explains now why so many products are highly rated - they only include positive reviews

OK - jeeez - say what you mean!
The people I know my friends that have them use them for gaming, so don't need exact colours - and were also driven by budget.

Just ordered a 19" Dell from Aria for £187.
Used to have them where I worked and they were pretty good - lots of connections and a USB hub built in too.

Also some here:

And before someone posts it. No they may not be the cheapest available. But it gives you an idea.

It didnt help that my credit card was cloned shortly after the Samsung monitor fiasco, and it happened in Sheffield, Ebuyers home.
Not saying they were anything to do with it, but it worried me.

I have heard a few bad things about dabs. Although I believe Overclockers are/were the same for deliveries.
Thanks for sharing though

Dabs are being caned by ebuyer from what I know and have lost about 35% on sales. Ebyuer appear Ok as long as you donlt need anything from them apart form product, You do get what you pay for to a degree.
Re the Monitor I've got an Apple 20" Cinema Display, OK not cheap but its awesome, by far the best LCD monitor I've seen. The one you seriosuly should consider though is the Formac Gallery. They do a few different sizes and the price varies a bit depandant on what colour you want but they are a superb bit of kit. Viewing angle is vast, colours are natural and the respnse time is excellent. Resolution is 1280 x 1024. 3 yr warranty and built in USB hub too.
We sell loads of these and they are amongst our best selling displays to the demanding creative market yet they are not too dear.

I have a Viewsonic VX912 and it has performed faultlessly with no dodgy pixels and excellent IQ.
Never had a problem with ebuyer either, although I know others have. I accept that the returns service might not be the best but that is outweighed for me by the savings on products I get from them, like the iPod video I bought a few weeks ago.

DW - No its DVI, they used to have an ADC connector that you could get a DVI adapter for...
Beautiful screen, I also have the 20". My ag neovo is my 2nd screen...
Price (£549inc) has been stable for ages now, might be a drop soon though, they did drop the 23" and 30" some time ago...

I've got a 19" Digimate from www.aria.co.uk and it does just fine for me. I've had mine a while now. They are currently doing them for ~£135 + VAT I believe.

I love my Samsung 21". Very clear for both gaming and multimedia work.
I've seen the 19" ones (930) and they look equally as good. They did seem a bright out of the box, but that could soon be fixed by running the calibration routines and turning the brightness down a bit

No the Formac stuff is all DVI equipped there are no Mac only connections now as Apple donlt use ADC as good as it was. YOu can get ADC models if you must.
Forget the Formac name as it was built supplying the Mac base but the kits brilliant on any computer Mac or PC.
