Wireless encryption question

Wireless encryption question
Hi,
I currently have 128bit WEP encryption on my home network (plus MAC address filtering), but I want to implement WPA-SPK.
Is it possible to have WPA-SPK running for my PC to router connection and 128bit WEP for my wireless Xbox Live connection?
I think not, but who knows... there may be a way?!?
The reason I want to do this: I think WPA-SPK will cause lag with Xbox Live.
All my wifi equipment is Netgear.
Thanks.

I've got my Airport Express set to use WPA and WPA2 (Personal), and it's setup to be a remote base station to my Airport Extreme base station, which is setup with the same encryption and my xbox is connected to the Airport Express and I've not see any lag.

So you want to use two different types of encryption?... Not possible on the one router.
I think it can be done if you buy a stand alone wireless access point, configure that to use a differing encryption method then plug it into a LAN port of your router.

if you have mac address filtering on and use a good wep password why bother changing?
The only reason id change is alot of other wireless networks nearby. While mac address spoofing is quite easy once you know how is anyone going to really bother when there are so many open wireless networks around?

I might try changing to WPA-SPK then and see what happens. I think I may be lagging on Xbox Live with only 128bit WEP though...
There are a lot of wireless networks in my area, so I wanted to make sure my network was as secure as possible. I'm porobably being a bit paranoid though!
