put tape in tape player plug the headphone socket on stereo into input socket on PC and press record on sound recorder or similar program (I recommend Goldwave) and play the tape. That should see you sorted
it'll probably be a wav file but thats easier to convert to an MP3

Yep it can be done, buy a Creative Soundblaster from Argos pg 1020, you can convert all tapes and records to mp3.
It also allows you to record "what it hears", so if there is a song you like say on youtube.com you can record/burn a copy of it.............much better than using kazaa and the like.
I've got one and its a useful bit of kit.
