Default Wireless dropouts

Ok, must admit it's normally my mates that come to me for wireless issues, but I'm at a loss with my current problem.

Just installed from scratch XP Media Center 2005 on my HP Pavilion and my connection keeps dropping from the exact place I was using my laptop before.

Only thing that is different is the lack of the Intel Pro Wireless icon and even though installed, it's not showing so I'm having to use Windows to manage.

When the connection drop I'm still getting 100% excellent connection.

I think the Pro wireless software has a setting to get windows to manage the wireless instead. You may have to open up the settings window and change it back to be managed by the intel stuff.

Yep, tried all those before I posted, I basically have installed the exact same applications and drivers as I did when using XP Pro, to no avail.

It's blummin lost me so far but I do like a good challenge

Have you turned off all security?
Try out of the box stylee, or using a cat 5 cable.

If you can connect with vanilla settings, then problem is with wifi client.

Could be MC has a QoS setting somewhere (for "enhanced" media experience)

My Pro Wireless icon just disappeared the other day but after opening up the application I found an option to show icon - it was ticked though ! So after playing around I gave up...and now icon is back !

Last night my bleeding connect kept dropping - but full signal from router - turned out was my 2nd Netgear router to break in 6 mos - painful.
