picked up a 3rd gen pod last week, now they are really bizzare, in that you can only charge the ****** by firewire... and it wont talk to the pc via firewire, as it says the disk is corrupt. (it isnt ive done the diagnostics and its fine) to get it to talk to the pc i have to use the usb port and its tickety ![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
now on the dock station it give a warning about connecting the firewire and usb simultaneously any ideas why, or is it apple being daft, or is it that there would be two sets of voltages going into the pod?
so to charge it i have to connect via the pc firewire port, and to load it the pc usb port. wouldnt be so bad if i had a mains to f/w adapter, but there £20 and not available in the shops. unlike a firewire card that was![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)

Just upgraded to iTunes V7.0, although saying that I've always used the firewire cable since I got the Ipod about 18/24mths ago, had several firmware upgrades since then.. The USB cable has never been taken out the box..
Edited to say, current Ipod version is 3.1.1
