Just found my old works laptop !
Ooops never gave it back, wonder what they would do with a Toshiba 2100 CT 486 with 16 meg !
Cant bear to skip it, when I got it I thought I was da man, looks like a vtech kids one now.
Tempted to put Linux on (as opposed to Win 3.1), wonder if it would work and whether the PCMCIA slot would support a wireless lan card ?
Or just buy a new one for 399 quid.

I've got a plll with 256mb and still seems too slow for bog standard browsing.
Might be worth it for a giggle, but wouldn't spend any money on it.
Could always sell it on ebay with a usb mouse.........

Yes, not expecting miracles, just like the whole geekiness of it.
My other laptop is a P3 with 256 meg running Win2k and its great for web browsing, doesnt seem any slower than the 1.7 Athlon, 1.0 Athlon or 2.8 P4's we have, not a lot of use for anything else mind but the reason I havent bought another is that all it does is get use for web browsing.
Are you running XP ?

No, W2K
But with all the SP's and IE updates, plus AV and firewall, just seems slow.
Thats with a wired connection, haven't bothered with wireless connection, which I am sure would slow it even more.
