Default Monitoring if an application is running?

Had a quick look on Google but nothing of interest...

Does anyone know of any programs which will monitor if applications are running on a pc and either re-run them if they close, or at least notify us? Don't particularly want to have to make it lol

Couple of ways you can do it but I've used this program in the past:

http://www.serverdoc.com/

Mainly used it to keep counter-strike servers running, but it works for any app. Has some nice features like it wont hang if the app errors with a dialog box waiting for user input (a big problem with CS:S) and a web interface so you can check/restart it remotely.

Not tried moving to .net yet. I bought it but as none of my existing applications would go into it without some work, i've stuck with 6 still as i am still too backed up with stuff.

Well just call GetEnumWindows in the win32 api if you know the name of the app and that returns all the open window names, that's how I would do it.

Thanks. Have got something in another prog I had to write which checks if something is open and offers to run it, so I have some of it to build in.

Looked at Serverdoc but it wont work due to the nature of machine it will be running on.

Cheers

Any decent SNMP daemon should be able to do this.
