Default Changing Power supply on a PC

My PC now won't turn on and the light indicating it's got power flashes so assume there is a problem with the power supply.

How easy is this change, any precautions and are the power supplies a standard type.

Cheers

Its a 2 minute process. Unscrew the 4 crosshead screws on the rear, unplug the 20/24 pin cable and the 4 pin cable from the motherboard, then from all the drives - CD/DVD and hard drive along with the floppy drive.

Pull the PSU out internally, then swap with the new one and reverse the leads and screws instructions.

Al powers supplies wil work to the ATX standard, but true wattage only comes with spending a few quid more.

A 500 watt £12.50 supply rates at 225 watt sometimes.

Get a decent brand 430w - 550w to cover most eventualities.

Unless you have twin SLI, FX62 CPU and 4 hard drives that will be fine.
